Clara Raposo

Dean of ISEG Lisbon School of Economics & Management of the University of Lisbon


Clara Raposo has been Dean of ISEG Lisbon School of Economics & Management of the University of Lisbon since July, 2018, where she is also a Full Professor of Finance. She has carried out the functions of Coordinator of the Masters in Finance, Coordinator of the Masters in Management (MiM), and Coordinator of the Postgraduation in Financial Analysis, as well as the Sustainable Finance Executive Programme: Green and Climate Finance. Beforehand, she was a Professor at ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and at the University of Oxford - at both Said Business School and St. Edmund Hall college.
She has a Ph.D. in Finance from the London Business School, a Master’s in Economics from the University of London, and a bachelor’s in economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
As a researcher, her work has been published in the most-renowned international journals of Finance: The Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics, and her most recent articles have been accepted for publication in equally prestigious academic journals, such as the International Journal of Central Banking and Small Business Economics. She has been, and currently is, the Principal Researcher of several research projects which are funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation (FFMS).
Her teaching experience is extensive and covers all levels of study. On more than one occasion she has been presented the Best Professor Award by different universities.
In terms of distinctions, Clara Raposo was elected a member (Correspondent Partner) of the Lisbon Academy of Science for Economics and Finance in 2019. She is a member of the European Advisory Board of the international agency for the accreditation of business schools, AACSB. She has carried out the role of the Ambassador for Portugal of Aliança ODS (UN Global Compact Network, Portugal). She is member of the Advisory Board of BCSD Portugal, a member of the Board of IPCG and a an independent non-executive Board member of Interbolsa, S.A..
